For lake weekends the rapid formula is often the practical pick because it lets you rinse and go the same day.

Plan the spray 2 to 3 days before the event so the tone settles. Wear loose dark clothing and skip lotion, deodorant, and makeup that day. Chlorine and lake water both shorten a tan, so rinse with fresh water afterward and moisturize; with that, 7 to 10 days is normal.
